Why it matters Tells you if the move has room. Buying at 78 is buying strength on borrowed time.
DIV
Dividend yield
Annualized yield at current price. Names >3% behave differently than growth names.
Why it matters High-yield names get bid on rate cuts and sold on hikes. Context, not the trade.
ADX
Average directional index
Trend strength, 0–100. >25 means the trend is real. <20 means it’s chop.
Why it matters A bullish signal in a choppy tape is a coin flip. Filter for trend and the odds get honest.
IVR
Implied volatility rank
Where current IV sits vs its 52-week range, 0–100. Low IVR = cheap options.
Why it matters If you’re using options to express the idea, this tells you whether you’re a buyer or a seller.
ERN
Days to earnings
Calendar days until the next report. Under 10d = event-risk zone.
Why it matters A perfect setup that reports in 6 days is a different trade than one with 45 days of room.
